Want to try AVA but want some help?

October 25, 2010 Leave a comment

If you’re new to AVA or if you’re new to competitive gaming in general then I stumbled across something that would be worth your while. If you want to try to get into AVA I would suggest going and at least skimming over dontrage from everStrive guide of AVA. Here’s the link if you want to check it out.

Here’s a sample of what it looks like.

IV. Mentality
…IVa. Mindset
The mindset is probably the most important part of competitive play. Have you ever had those days where you just can’t seem to play your best? You keep missing shots you normally would hit or make dumb mistakes? Most likely this is because you are in the wrong mindset for your temperament to be playing at your top game. If you just had a bad day and you jump on AVA, your performance is going to suffer greatly.

IJJI begins to plan next AVA tournament

October 16, 2010 2 comments

GM_Midori:
With so many game modes in A.V.A, how do we decide what type of tournament to hold next?  We ask you of course.

That’s right!  While we are busy planning the next upcoming A.V.A tournament, we want to find out from you, our players, what type of game mode you would like to see used next/
The next tournament game mode will be one of the four in this poll, so choose your favorite and hope that it wins.  Your four choices are:

  Escort

  Domination

  Demolition

  Convoy
So please cast your vote now for the next A.V.A tournament if you want to see one of these particular game modes played!  Voting ends November 1, 2010.

From the looks of it IJJI is beginning to plan their next tournament or possibly AVA FPS Season 2. Keep your eyes open for some info regarding their next tourney sometime after Nov.1 and keep your fingers crossed for a big prize pot :D! Hopefully they have another big prize pot and draw in some more competition into the game. I think it’s pretty obvious the competitive community will all vote for demolition but I’m hoping for a setup sort of like the Pro-Invitational tournament. If anybody recalls the Pro-Invitational tournament did a mixture of escort demo and convoy which made it pretty fun to watch. Anyways here’s the link to the poll get voting!

everStrive calls it quits?

October 16, 2010 Leave a comment

Shortly after their early DQ round in the IeSF 2010 tournament to Echo7 a member of everStrive posted this on the forums.

Boofxx:

Well as some of you may know we are leaving this game. It has been a fun run. The reason we are leaving is because there is only 4 to 5 good teams outta maybe 18 who play this game for competition.

To Defkon good luck in Korea as we decided not to try and maybe beat you guys and hausen end up going to korea. Speedy cant go to korea and we do everything as a team so 1 cant go we said none of us were. To people doubting DefKon against the koreans i think as long as they play as good as they do behind the comps i dont see them losing.

P.S we might comeback if season 2 has a big prize pot. Cyas.

It sucks to see one of the top teams to leave the game but I think its safe to say that we’ll see them return in AVA Season 2.
